I came to Narconon Arrowhead's Drug Abuse Treatment Center when I realized I could not stop using cocaine. I had thought previously I could stop. I was a successful businesswoman. I had purchased a half million dollar home and had always paid off all of my credit card bills in full. That was before I became addicted to cocaine. During my yearlong cocaine binge, I maxed my credit cards and was making it to work later and later. I also could barely pay my mortgage at the end of the year. When I made the choice that I needed help, it was because I knew I was going to start smoking cocaine. I didn’t choose to come to drug rehab because I was losing everything. As an opiate, regular use of methadone causes physical dependency - if you've been using it regularly (prescribed or not) once you stop you will experience a withdrawal.
